About inareview
inareview publishes independent, evidence-based reviews of the products that shape how you sleep, train, eat and feel. I read the label and the brand’s own documents, I check every claim against published research, and I score each product out of 10. No brand can pay to change that score.
Why this site exists
Search for almost any supplement or wellness product and you hit a wall of content written to sell it: affiliate pages dressed up as reviews, press releases recycled as journalism, and top-ten lists ranked by commission rather than quality. If you are genuinely trying to work out whether something is worth your money, that is close to useless.
inareview is built on the opposite premise. A review is only worth reading if it is willing to tell you not to buy.
What I cover
- Sleep — supplements, aids and habits that affect sleep quality
- Fitness — home training, equipment and activity tracking
- Nutrition — eating habits that hold up over the long term
- Supplements — what the label claims versus what the evidence actually shows
- Weight management — sustainable approaches, and the products that over-promise
- Well-being — small daily habits for energy and calm
How I review a product
Every verdict on this site follows the same six steps:
- I source the documentation. The Supplement Facts panel from every major retailer that stocks the product, the brand’s own testing pages and its current prices. I never work from a brand-supplied sample or brief.
- I read the label against the claim. Elemental dose against compound weight, how many capsules or scoops make a serving, and whether anything is hidden inside an undisclosed proprietary blend.
- I analyse the evidence. I break down each ingredient or feature and compare the brand claims against published research, flagging where the evidence is strong, weak or missing.
- I compare the alternatives. No product exists in a vacuum. I weigh each one against the best alternatives on price, quality and value.
- I score it. Only then do I assign a score out of 10, with a clear verdict on who the product is, and is not, right for.
- I keep it current. I revisit reviews as products change, prices shift or new evidence appears.
The full process is documented in my testing methodology.
The inareview Score
Each product earns a single number out of 10 covering four things: formulation and dose, the strength of the evidence behind the claims, how transparent the labelling and testing are, and the price per unit of active ingredient. Every band is defined, and every score published so far is listed, in the methodology. A high score means I would spend my own money on it. A low score means I would not, and I explain exactly why.
Who is behind inareview
inareview is founded, researched and written by Roy Douele.
I am not a doctor, a pharmacist or a registered dietitian, and nothing on this site is medical advice. What I am is the person who reads the documents most buyers never see: the Supplement Facts panel from every retailer that stocks the product, the brand’s own testing pages, the certifier registers, and the clinical literature behind the claim on the label.
To be explicit about what that is and is not: every review published so far is a label, evidence and disclosure analysis rather than a hands-on trial, and each review says so in its own opening section. It is good at dose, testing, disclosure and price per unit of active ingredient. It cannot tell you how something tastes, and this site does not pretend otherwise. When a product does not hold up, I say so, including when I would have earned a commission on it.
If you want to challenge a verdict, flag an error, or suggest a product worth testing, email me directly at contact@inareview.com. I read and reply to every message.
How I stay independent
inareview is reader-supported. Some links on this site are affiliate links, which means I may earn a commission if you buy through them, at no extra cost to you. Those commissions fund the testing and research that keeps this site free to read.
They never influence a verdict. Brands cannot pay for a review, cannot approve my content before publication, and cannot influence a score. If a product is not worth buying, I say so, even when I could earn a commission on it. The full details are in my affiliate disclosure and editorial policy.
Corrections and contact
I aim for accuracy and I correct mistakes promptly. If you spot an error, or want to question a verdict, email contact@inareview.com. I read every message.
One important note
inareview publishes consumer product reviews, not medical advice. Nothing here is intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition. Always speak to a qualified healthcare professional before starting a supplement, diet or fitness programme. Please read my full medical disclaimer.
